This is a tour where you'll make onigiri (rice balls) with rice fluffy cooked in a traditional hagama pot. During the rice cooking time, you'll visit the local shopping district and lively downtown area to enjoy finding ingredients for your onigiri. Through conversations with shopkeepers, you might learn about Awaji Island's seasonal flavors and special local information.
Upon returning to AWAJI JOURNEY HUB, you'll make onigiri. You'll take the carefully cooked rice from the hagama pot and meticulously form rice balls with your favorite ingredients found in the shopping district. Rice cooked together with dried fish and kombu seaweed has a rich, exceptional flavor. The time spent enjoying your handmade onigiri while gazing at the beautiful courtyard will be an exceptionally luxurious moment.
